"As a career Air Force veteran with Masters Degrees from both the University of Nevada and UNLV, I understand how vitally important education is to the development and future of every young person in our great state of Nevada. A quality education includes not only the traditional core subjects such as english, math and science, but must also include practical knowledge such as those taught in the trades. We must also teach the depth of individual subjects to develop our students' ability to think across the curriculum, integrating their knowledge from different subjects to come up with innovative solutions to tomorrow’s problems. We need to do more than teach our kids the basics, taking their knowledge to the next level by supplying our students with both the tools and experience they will need to be successful in life and their future careers."

From his Air Force leadership positions and assignments at bases in Florida, Nevada, Colorado and California to The Pentagon in Washington, DC, and back to Reno, NV where he calls home, Retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Matt Buehler is a leader with strong traditional values and compassion for those he serves. After serving our country for more than two decades, he now seeks to utilize his wealth of knowledge and experience to improve our State.
None of Matt’s life achievements would be possible without his education and the teachers and mentors who helped shape him as a young person. They each uniquely
supported and encouraged Matt’s goals in ways that contributed to the person he is today.

Our State is one of incredible opportunities. Its frontier spirit still runs strong. To take full advantage of all we have to offer, our people, businesses and schools must have the environment, funding and resources necessary to carry out their unique missions. Now, more than ever before, we need proven leadership to get our State back on track and make Nevada the “eNVy” of America!
